Good kids are taught at an early age that when you receive a gift from someone, you say, "Thank you." 

If it's an ugly sweater from your sister or a knitted blanket that smells like grandma's smoky, 70s-styled house, it's good manners to be a grateful gift receiver, even if you hate it. Conceal your twisted snarl and grin, because this person went out of their way to make you happy and to make you smile with a gift—grow up and accept it! 

This cousin was too spoiled to understand what gratefulness was. A recent college graduate who was 'too good to work,' but too spoiled not to accept Mommy and Daddy's allowance, was allowed to come on the family getaway weekend with the rest of the cousins. Already annoyed with everyone's presence, she fouled up the mood of every activity, every meal, and every family moment, but the trip ultimately took a turn for the worse at the very end of the shindig.
